Transition services for students with disabilities in Livingston County should begin as soon as we start discussing post high school plans.
This may be as early as middle or elementary school, but must be part of a students Individualized Education Plan when they are in 8th grade, so that appropriate programming can be in place for high school and beyond.
Students and parents should be active participants in the planning of transition activities, and several supports are available to assist you in assessing transition needs and offering services to students within your school. Select links below to connect to more pages:

What is an Employment Training Specialist? ETS are contractual staff provided by our ICTA with Michigan Rehabilitation Services; they support our WRAP class but are also trained to work with individual or small groups of students to explore post secondary options, interests and pathways.
What can an ETS do to help with transition planning in my school? ETS staff can come into your classrooms, meet with you and/or your students to conduct sessions on Career Cruising, O*Net, look at requirements for post secondary schooling; they can meet with you to update you on these options and what is discovered during student sessions.
How can I reach my ETS? We are pleased to have three full time ETS contractors serving our schools beginning this fall. See below for contact information - they will meet with you in your building when you are ready - give them a call today!
